Edge 520 Keeps shutting down - won't start

Hi everyone

Got my Garmin Edge 520, been using it for 2 months no issues. Yesterday, after charging my unit following a long ride, i looked at the battery symbol and it had an X on it, not the usual charging movement. Then when i unplugged and tried to shut it down or restart, it simply would not. It kept going in a loop from booting up (Garmin Logo comes on) then after about 10 secs, it shows me the power symbol and then shuts down.

I tried everything - master reset etc. Could it be the battery is fried? It won't charge - not enough power hence it cannot boot up successfully and then shuts down?

Any help is appreciated. If it helps, I was charging with a micro usb cable i use for my Samsung phone - quick charge
