Cracked Screen; What to do?

Hi,
We have a Garmin 520 that suffered when we took a spill on our tandem; the glass is cracked, but it's otherwise perfectly functional.
Is this fixable for a reasonable cost, or should be be looking for a new head unit?
Thanks.
Mark

Well, I contacted Garmin, who have a program where they'll take your damaged unit and send you a reconditioned unit, for $99. That was acceptable.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Was that 520 still in its one year warranty period, or was it out of warranty?

It was still under warranty, but the warranty doesn't apply to damage from a fall.

Do you think that same offer would apply to an out of warranty unit?

Yes; it was made clear to me that my warranty did not apply, because of the nature of the damage (which, IMO, is reasonable).
