Smartphone required?

i don’t have a smartphone with no plans to get one. Can I still use a 520plus and just sync with my laptop?
i don’t use Strava but just like to go explore.

None of the Garmin devices requires a smartphone.

ReconMarine, yes, the deivce will work fine if you load Garmin Express to your laptop and sync with it.
