520 plus with Quarq dzero powermeter

I think there is a problem with the powermeter settings on the 520 plus. I use the 1030 and the 520 plus in combination with my Quarq Dzero powermeter and on the 520 plus my watts are too low.
I always do a zero offset /calibration before the ride but the last two ride my watts on the 520 plus were incorrect. Maybe Garmin can check this out?
  • using a dzero here and seems ok - why do you say they are too low ? Seems an odd thing for the 520 do get wrong - Does cadence work ok ?

try recording a ride with both the 1030 and 520 and see what the difference is.

FWIW this is a 'users forum' so garmin might not even read this - best email support if you have a very specific problem...although they will just ignore it anyway :)
  • Thanks for your reply. It is a good idea to check both Garmins at the same ride.
  • Are they both connect over the same protocol. E.g. both using ANT. If they are using different protocols then they might be getting different information from the power meter. E.g. one is paired over ANT and the other over BLE.

Is it the 1 second power values that are low or the average power for the activity.
  • When I rode with the 520 plus my watts were way too low. I normally have around 250 watts average but the 520 plus showed around 130 average on the same ride, distance and speed.
When I connect the 1030 the BLE and ANT+ of the Quarq Dzero is found. I don't know which connection is used by the 1030.
When I connect the 520 plus to the Quarq Dzero the ANT+ connection is found. Everything seemed ok, but when riding the 3s power output was too low (often lower then 100 or slightly above) 100). After the ride the total average power output for the ride was also too low.
On the 1030 everything works fine and the power output is correct with 3s power always higer then 200 watts
Today I will test both Garmins on a ride..
  • Went back from a short ride. I tested the 520 plus on my other bike with a Power2Max powermeter. Everything is fine. Again I had problems with Livetrack. The connection between my Android phone and the 520 plus is ok. My wife can send met text messages and I can reply with the 520 plus. I don't know why Livetrack gives a error message. Something about the communication between defices.Maybe a problem with the automatic start. In Garmin connect setup seems fine and phone is connected but Livetrack gives me a headache.
