R8050 Di2 rear gears showing incorrectly

I have R8050 Di2 with the WU111 sensor. Everything updated, correctly setup on eTube with the right gear ratio (53/39, 11-28). I have checked this both via bluetooth on iOS and cable on Windows.

However on the 520, the gear ratio shows wrong for the rear casette, but the position is correct using the graphic. Front is fine. Searching around here and it looks like this was an old bug. Has this re-surfaced as a bug?
  • What does it show instead of 11-28 on the Edge. Is the Edge on build 12.60?

Hello, it interprets it as 11-23. Everything is up to date including all Di2 components
  • I cannot recall if the 520 uses the Shimano 2.0 protocol to set the gear sizing or not. Go to the sensor list on the Edge and select the Di2 and then sensor details. What do the gear values show here? You might need to manually select the rear cassette size. 53/39 and 11/23 sounds like the default values on the Edge.
  • I just checked the release notes and support for the 2.0 protocol went in on build 12.30.

Let me try changing the values on my Edge and see if I still get the correct values.
  • I checked it with my unit and the values from the Di2 correctly override the values set on the Edge.

The only things I can think of is the software version on the WU111 is not up-to-date. This can only be updated using the phone app and not the PC app.

The second thing is to try doing a reset of the Di2 system by disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it.

Thanks, it is up to date. I am going to delete sensor and re add. I am thinking that if I synced the Di2 prior to updating the garmin this has caused something to stick. If does not work I will force change in Di2 the casette setting then back to see if that helps

The above solved it. I removed the sensor and re added. This allowed me to edit the gear setting in the Garmin. Before it would not let me go into sensor details.

i am guessing adding it out of the box on old firmware then updating it didn’t help!
