I'm still a little unclear as to why or how this new unit would fit my riding style. If I don't use my 520's mapping functions (or at least rely on them), what is the compelling reason to upgrade? I'm basically using my 520 for the distance and timing metrics. I have yet to purchase and attached a power meter.
I dont see why you would update from 520 to the 520+. The 520 plus would be just the head unit someone would buy that would have normally purchase the 520 because they dont want the 820 or a larger unit
The main difference between the 520 and 520+ is increased storage, built in maps and navigation (turn by turn instructions). The 520, 520 Plus and 820 are all the same size.
There are also other changes, group messaging, segment page and additional performance metrics.
Can the setup files, history, records, etc be transferred from the 520 to 520+? I'm upgrading and it might be nice to start from the 520 base rather than start from scratch. Odometer programmable, or transferrable?
faster CPU/map processing than 520/820? when I use OSM maps on 820 during my taiwan trip, maybe the map has too much detail and the 820 is very slow to process the map like turn calculation, scrolling, zooming in/out...
