Hi. I was having trouble updating my Edge 520 to latest firmware, so I ended up doing a factory restore after weeks of troubleshooting. That then allowed me to update the firmware. Before the restore, I copied the Locations, Activities, Records, Settings, Sports, Totals, Weight, and Workout folders to my desktop. I then took those folders and dropped them into NewFiles on the restored Garmin. Unfortunately, they still sit in that folder and my Garmin does seem to be doing what it's supposed to with those folders. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? In the past, the Garmin has distributed the files to where they are supposed to be kept when I turned it back on, although I have never done this with the 520 specifically. I even tried manually popping one of the files into the existing folder on the 520 (Settings) and that didn't work. It still boots up with the factory settings. Thanks.
Only copy files into the NewFiles folder, not folders. I'm not sure if activity files are restorable this way. They don't really need to be put back as they will eventually fill up the memory and you will need to delete them anyway.
