Disable sensor searching

Searching for sensors for a long time drains battery? Is it possible to select wich sensor I want to disable in each profile the same way I can disable searching for satellites? I dont need cadence or speed indoors but 520 search them all the time
  • The search for sensors only runs for about 2 minutes after the timer has started. It then stops so the battery drain is minimal.
  • I was also going to ask this. Thought would be handy to have what sensors to search for each profile...

So I have "Indoor" profile; it searches for Wahoo Cadence, Wahoo Kickr, and Wahoo HRM.

For "General Training", "Climbing", other profiles..

I would have it only search for "Garmin Speed, Garmin Cadence, Garmin HRM".

ATM I disable searching for one: e.g. garmin speed, and it is universal :(

Ive created a personal profile wich includes GPS off and sensor searching never stops or at least sensors icons keep blinking all the time.

    On a related note...

On a long ride the other day I forgot to push a button on my Edge Remote when I set off and so my 520 didn't connect with it. After about 2 hours riding I pushed a button on the remote but the 520 didn't see it - as explained above, it only searches for about 2 minutes after the timer has started. So is there any way to make the 520 search again, in the middle of a ride, for sensors/devices that it didn't detect when the ride started?
  • I think you can only do a search for a specific sensor rather than all.

From the home page hit the up key to bring up the status pages page, scroll down to Connecting to sensors and hit the select key, scroll down to the sensor you want, select it and then connect.

    Thanks.

I tried what you suggested but, strangely, the Edge Remote sensor doesn't show the 'Connect' option. All the other sensors - HRM, cadence, speed - show the 'Connect' option, but the Edge Remote is the only one that doesn't. Any idea why that is?

  • I forgot the following. The remote uses a different type of set-up, which is why there is no connect option on the Edge. For the remote the Edge is actually the sensor and the remote is the master. This is the opposite to how most other sensors are configured.

If they are correctly paired I would think that the remote should find the Edge at any time.
