SRAM eTap Showing 0-0 Gears after ver 12.1 upgrade

Going to ride this morning when I saw that an update was available. Downloaded it and installed. One thing I noticed is that the eTap gears started showing 0-0. I would change gears then it would show the gears, with a delay (ex. 52-19), then go back to 0-0 after awhile. There are instances that I did not shift gear then it would show up on the screen.

It was never like that prior to the update. It always shows what gears I'm in. Anypone having this issue as well?
  • I have been having this same issue a. I changed the coin batteries in the shifters but still have the same problem. Did not have the problem before the update. Also completely reset my 520 and deleted all the activities. No change.

Hopefully someone has a solution or the next update puts it back the way it was.
  • Try doing a reset of the eTap. Remove the 2 battery packs for 5 minutes. Then put them back and shift both the front and rear gears.

^^ So I did the reset and everything. Still the same. Added a video of what I'm talking about.

So when checking my ride today, I noticed this. You can see all other devices connected/paired to my unit and the etap is the only one blinking. https://youtu.be/tEOqv1KBKts

I downgraded back to version 11.10, and all is working perfectly again.

How did you rolled back to version 11.1?

EDIT: Found it. Giving it a try.

Did the roll back and by the looks of it, I still have the same issue. :(

Another thing annoying is that the update keeps on prompting to install to new latest firmware. What a bummer!
  • The issue sounds like it might be a corruption in the settings file. You may need to try doing a reset of the device.

Backup the Sports and Locations folder from the Edge. These can be restored afterwards by placing the contents in the NewFiles folder.

As the settings file may be corrupt do not try restoring that. You will need to re-pair your sensors and set up the user profile again.

    Prompted non-vol clear ?
    • Turn device off
    • Hold the Down key while powering on the device
    • Continue holding the down key until the ?Factory Reset? prompt appears
    • Select OK to clear

Yup, the roll back resets and wipes out all settings. I needed to re-create my old profile and add all sensors like it was a new unit.
