An issue has popped up for me in the last week with highly inaccurate data on a Garmin GSC-10 speed/cadence sensor AND a PowerTap G3 power meter. I put in new batteries on both, but still have not resolved the issue. I was wondering if anybody else had a similar issue - I searched the forum, but did not see any threads about this.
On a local descent, which I cruise down at 30-35 mph, it displayed 50+ mph. (However, the cadence appeared to be accurate throughout the ride, which is measured through the same GSC-10 sensor). The distance was also too long by maybe 30% (~10 miles, instead of the actual ~7 miles).
In addition, the wattage on the way up was also significantly high. It was stated that I averaged 300+ watts over the 15-minute climb, but I was putting in no more than a tempo 200 watts.
As these are two separate ANT+ devices (the speed/cadence sensor and the power meter), I can't imagine that the issue stems from both. I did put in new batteries for both without success. I wonder if the firmware 10.0 update created this issue? I don't recall if I had ridden since updating the firmware in mid-December, as I've been busy traveling for the holidays.
If anybody else had a similar issue, or has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
