Training workouts - no workouts saved

Hello,

Im new to this forum and couldnt find the answer so apologies if my question is answered elsewhere.

My garmin 520 froze on me this week and after doing a factory reset to get it going again i am no longer able to view workouts, i get an error "no workouts saved". I have tried transferring workouts created in garmin connect via garmin express and also copying and dragging them into the "new files folder" but with no luck. I have also tried copying tcx workout files from a number of weeks ago that worked fine and now do not display.

I have tried factory reset and also just updated to version 10.0 of the software which has made no difference.

Is there an option to do a hard/master reset? I have seen numerous people posting the following instructions but they do not work, in point 5 the splash screen does not disappear on my edge 520.

1.Power device off
2.Press and hold Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
3.Power device on while still holding both buttons
4.Continue holding buttons when the Garmin "splash" screen appears
5.Release buttons when Garmin "splash" screen disappears

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Johnny
  • After advice by garmin support via email they advised me to delete a number of files in folders that are not required in the event there was a corrupt file

My device is now stuck on the garmin logo at "loading profiles", there are 3 dots that appear and flash incrementally as if it is doing something but does not go any further.

Has anyone had this issue where it gets stuck on bootup?
