What's the deal with "(re)enable activity profile"

I have 2 "activity profiles" on my 520 one for each wheelset (summer, winter) i use on the bike... recently i had to send my summer set back to manufacturer for a warranty case... so now winter wheel set is on the bike and i'm trying to use my winter profile on 520.
When i activate profile before ride i expected it to stay activated, but after each restart of 520 i see summer profile being active again... And what's even more strange i see winter profile colour, but summer profile name showing up on start screen.
So at this point i have to reenable winter profile before every ride and considering that i'm commuting (two ride per day) it's getting really annoying at this point.
Can someone teach me how to actually activate profile without having to reenabling it before every ride?

thanks
  • This is software bug, that Garmin is aware of. (I reported it). The workaround is to try a reset of the unit.

Below are a list of folders that you should backup before clearing the non-volatile memory. Copy the contents of these folders to your PC.

Garmin\HMD -contains the screen configuration for the Varia Vision if you have one
Garmin\Locations - contains and saved locations
    Garmin\Records - personal records E.g. longest ride
Garmin\Settings - contains paired sensors, user data etc
Garmin\Sports - contains the activity profile
Garmin\Totals - contains total information for each activity profile

Once you have copied the contents of these folders to your PC you can do a

Prompted non-Vol Clear - Clears NV and deletes all default FIT files and any files in the NewFiles folder. This will not delete Activities, Courses, or Workouts.

    • With the device off, turn on the device
    • After the Garmin logo appears, wait 1 second and then touch and hold the top left corner of the touch window
    • A prompt should then appear. Answer this prompt by pressing the checkmark.

After the Edge has restarted and gone through the initial user set-up, connect it to the PC and copy all the files you saved to the Garmin\NewFiles folder. The Edge will then import them all when it next re-starts.

Another work around is to make a new profile with a different name for the one that is sticking. And delete the sticky one.

I found another workaround (easier one) - edit profile and change colour, enable it.... thank avereyone for responses... hop[fully garmin comes out with actual fix.
