I was hoping to add the HRM from my old Forerunner 301 with my new Edge 520. After changing the battery and making sure it still connected to my 301, I tried to add it to my 520. The Edge 520 does one of two things: it either continually says "To connect the heart rate monitor, put it on" or sometimes that message goes away and I simply see the spinning circle. One time I saw the letter "A" above the spinning circle but it did not produce any pairing.
One obvious question is whether the HRM from the FR301 is compatible with the Edge 520. I thought I had read it was the first ANT+ HRM from Garmin but maybe I was mistaken. Also, do I need to "unpair" the HRM from my FR301 in order to add it to the Edge 520?
Again, I know the HRM is working as its registering with the FR301. Thanks for your help.
