Lost GPS data but total mileage still on Garmin

Hi, I have a fit file that is corrupted and tried the fit file repair tool but it has not worked. The mileage on the edge is correct 89 miles but the mileage on the fit file is 52 miles or so. I am desperate to get this file corrected, can someone please help?

I have attached the file, willing to pay £10 to get the file fixed

  • There is a 6 hour gap in the data recording. The unit was power down and then powered up.

Unit was definitely powered on whilst riding, it switches off automatically when i stop after about 5 minutes, but i always switch it on again when cycling. I dont cycle unless the unit is on as I use the power data all the time

This looks like the same issue that pops up every once in a while. The Edge continues to function but does not record data. The incorrectly logged power down and power up events give an indication of the failure mode. But if the Edge was actually powered down the Edge distance would be the same as the recorded GPS track. The Edge distance is longer and it the distance that was expected. And Martin would have noticed if his Edge had been off for that long.

The best you could do to recover the data is to patch in the data from another rider. Or if that is not possible you could patch in a plotted route. If you want help doing that post someone else's FIT file or post a link to a plotted route.
