Bike Service counter

Former Member
Former Member
Hello,

Before my new Edge520 I had an old VDO Computer.
It was possible to set for each bike a Service counter:

e.g. MTB1 500 Kilometer

Roadbike2 1500 Kilometer

I need this because i drive 3 chains and change them periodicaly.

Has anyone a hint for me to realise this?

Thanks and Greets

    Recurring Alert?

    I'm wondering if you can use a recurring alert (ie. distance) in lieu of an actual service counter, you can likely have a different distance alert for each activity profile you have (possibly one for every bike?).

    Below are the instructions from the manual:

    A recurring alert notifies you each time the device records a specified value or interval. For example, you can set the device to alert you every 30 minutes.

    Select Menu > Settings > Activity Profiles.
    Select a profile.
    Select Alerts.
    Select Time Alert, Distance Alert, or Calorie Alert.
    Turn on the alert.
    Enter a value.
    Select [checkbox]

    I hope this helps!

    Your best bet for this actually is Strava. The "My Gear" function allows you to not only track the mileage on each bike separately, but also to track the mileage on each individual component, such as a chain.

    @sal1k
    i know the setting, but it sets a Alarm only for the current ride.
    When you stop and ride the next day again, the counter starts from zero again.

    @Krectr
    Thx, thats the feature i needed.

    But its sad thats there is no alarm in strava, so i have to think myself and look at the component counter.

    I think it would be a great feature for the next Edge 520 Firmwareupdate... hopefully a developer is reading this post...

    Thx for your help so far..
