Edge 520 Not Receiving Texts

I have had a look at other posts but cannot resolve my issue.
I have a new Edge 520 and is synced to a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.
I have all notifications turned on. Phone/Edge/Garmin Connect App
Bluetooth connections are active. Edge 520 displays phone as connected and has menu for missed calls and notifications
Automatic upload of rides works fine.
Weather update appears in status screen.

But I CANNOT receive text messages - I am getting no notifications on the device and there are no messages in the "Missed Call/Notifications" log

Anyone throw any light on this or have I missed a step somewhere.

    Updated the Edge 520 & 1000 today.

    BLE_Edge 520 is STILL NOT working with my iPhone 6, while BLE_Edge 1000 connects without a problem.

    I'm starting to get pissed at Garmin for constantly bringing out updates that are supposed to fix bugs I
    personally NEVER had while not resolving issues or even worse creating new problems thousands of
    people are complaining about day in and day out. -.-

    I am on latest v.5.20 , paired with Samsung Galaxy S4mini. I solved this issue simply by unpairing and repairing Edge in Samsung BT setting . Works fine either wih calls and texts.

    Done that a number of times. Works sometimes and then stops working again.

    This was an important reason for me to upgrade from the 500, and it is not reliable. Rather, it is more often NOT working for me.

    Is anyone receiving text messages on their Garmin when using an IPhone 6?

    I have everything up to date and no longer receive the texts to my Garmin.

    Yes, but it can be spotty. Try resetting the BLE pairing between your iPhone and the Edge 520. You also need to make sure that the connect app has been opened recently (not sure how recent) and running in the background. Lastly, verify in the Edge 520 menu -> Settings -> bluetooth -> phone; that you have enable messages and alert notifications.
