Edge 520 Not Receiving Texts

I have had a look at other posts but cannot resolve my issue.
I have a new Edge 520 and is synced to a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.
I have all notifications turned on. Phone/Edge/Garmin Connect App
Bluetooth connections are active. Edge 520 displays phone as connected and has menu for missed calls and notifications
Automatic upload of rides works fine.
Weather update appears in status screen.

But I CANNOT receive text messages - I am getting no notifications on the device and there are no messages in the "Missed Call/Notifications" log

Anyone throw any light on this or have I missed a step somewhere.

Not Receiving Notifications

I have the S4 mini with exactly the same problem.....I've tried every suggestion on here to fix it.....I've given up on this feature now :( :(

you do have both standard bluetooth and the BLE connections paired, correct?

My phone (S4 Mini) only comes up with the one option to pair with which is the BLE_Edge_520. On the 520 it says notifications and texts are switched on and enabled but get nothing though on the garmin

I have the same problem with my Lumia 930 (Windows 10 Mobile 10586.107) and Edge 520.
Activities are being synced correctly and the Edge shows also the weather forecast but can't make notifications to work. I hope it will be fixed soon by Garmin.

I have exactly same problem with my S5. I've emailed Garmin support but they've not got back to me....

I actually found the problem I was having when I updated my Edge 520 to version 4.1.....to get the notifications on your phone the android version has to be 4.3 or above, mine was only running 4.1. I updated my phone to the latest firmware, re paired it all, and I finally got the notifications on the 520....should of checked this first....doh!!

My android phone is running 5.0, so that's not an issue.

Just had an email from Garmin, who suggested to use the Connect app....what do they think I was using...:(
