Strava Live Segments - Off Course Tolerance

Twice this morning December 3rd when using the live segments I went "off course" (although I didnt deviate off the road at all) and the segment tracking just stops. There needs to be a greater tollerance for "off course" or the ability to rejoin a course once the GPS sorts itself out, or as it was on the Edge 500, it pops up a message saying "Course found" and it continiues on. Is this being addressed?

When I get home and load up the course to strava, it still recognises this as completing the segment so the data cant be bad, i think the edge 520 as mentioned earlier just needs a greater tollerance for "off course" and/or a "Course Found" feature. I know I am not the only one experiencing this, and given this was personally one of the most desirable features that made me updrade from and Edge 500, it would be great if this could work properly.
  • There are many topics on this subject. In general, Strava and Garmin use different algorithms (also for determining KOM)
    Strava is notoriously vague
  • Another ride this morning on this 7km segment that I do and I cannot seem to get to the end without it saying "Off Segment" and then forever dropping it and never rejoining.

Either make it rejoin and recalculate the segment effort, aor increase the tollerance for "Off Segment, because at the moment on one of my favorite 7km-ish segments, I am still yet to clock a time.....and by the way, I have checked the segment data and the point where it triggers as off segment is fine.

I discovered this "feature" today, much to my annoyance. One of the main live segments that I follow passes under a rather long tunnel, so obviously there is always a temporary break in GPS signal. It vexes me that the 520 can't recognise, once it regains the signal, that it is still very much on the segment and to resume data recording.
