Rubbish power data Edge 520 + BKOOL indoor trainer

Hi everyone, i bought this week a garmin edge 520. In my indoor sessions I use it connected to a BKOOL upgraded to communicate under the protocol ant+ fe-c.

So, the ideal thing is that my garmin could receive the power data -for later analysis- and control the resistance of the unit. But in reality, all the power that I see in the garmin it is rubbish+noise, two of every three measure shown in the garmin are incorrect and it follows some sort of sequence. The first measure is the real power (RP), the second one is 1,5*RP and the last is 2*RP. I show some screeenshots.

And about controlling the resistance of the unit, at the end of every interval it drops to zero, so I have to set it again to my desire resistance. So another problem too. Hope anyone had hear about this issues and can give me some advice. Thanks.

    same problems

Hi Meyocr, I am having a similiar setup (BKOOL Pro with EDGE520). I am also connected to Zwift, so during my training I check that power data both on Zwift and Edge are identical. However, at the end when I compare the average data, Zwift shows average power 200w when Edge says 100w. I have tried to correct this be making zero watts not to count, but no success. Problem persists. I have written to BKOOL and Garmin for this and wait for response.
Please if you have any news post here, and I will do the same.

    Thanks

  • Hi, so far, there has been no changes, besides both updates from Garmin and Bkool, that made no diference at all. I just quickly noting that I don't have a Bkool Pro, mine it is just Classic, maybe that is the reason that the numbers you see on your Edge are not all over the place.

    Thanks

  • Same problem here with Garmin 520 with firmware 6.0 and Bkool pro. On the Garmin 520 screen the power is displayed correctly (around 160 watts in my activity), but when saved, in garmin connect or strava the values are rubbish. I saved the activity to tcx/gpx to analyze, and the values are like this sample:
    Watts
    ...
    162
    165
    165
    168
    168
    168
    167
    167
    85
    85
    168
    82
    83
    84
    85
    84
    84
    82
    82
    83
    83
    79
    79
    75
    76
    156
    161
    161
    ...

Some values are correct (around 160, like displayed on the Garmin 520 during the activity), but other values are like a halk (around 80). With this problem the average power is completely rubbish!

Another problem is that, when I setup a manual resistance for the trainer with the Garmin 520, after that moment, the value of the power watts is constant: it does not matter if I keep pedaling or if I stop pedaling, the value of the watts does not vary.
