Anyone moved from Edge 800 to 520?

Just wondering if anyone has moved from an Edge 800 to a 520. How are you finding it in use? More or less reliable? Missing the card slot? Battery life? Ease of use?

I don't use the navigation features on the 800 but would like live segments and wireless updates so the 520 looks like a good option for me.
  • I did the switch and am very pleased. I had a hard time with the edge 800 following the route, dark purple on purple. The 520 is much more defined. The lack of sd card is a little annoying, but I mainly travel in my area so there was no issue d/l the map. I will have to d/l another if I go elsewhere, but it is a very easy procedure. I always have my phone, so navigation was never an issue ((I would rather use my phone if ever needed due to being off course or road closures, but thousands of miles and I never had to on the 800)). The display is more crisp, and is definitely more responsive. The best part is my activity is uploaded when I have completed automatically. No longer have to hook it up to the pc to do it. The menu items just make sense to get to them, and I like the sensor setup ((no need to switch profiles)) much better. No regrets!

Yes, I like the smaller size of the 520. Hoping to get the trainer control to work.
  • Had is for a few days so still getting used to it. Benefits as per above, but I do miss the touch screen as it was definitely easier to navigate around the unit and add things.
  • I did not trade something that is working for something that is just released, I will wait a little bit more , just because fw is not mature

    Pro
    -New device
-small factor , but I find size of 800/810 OK
-notifications from phone (I don't know how much it is
-Live segments - if the segment is created OK on Strava then you have fun :)

    Cons
No touch screen! (this has a lot of implication, in the past I had Edge 705 and it was great as it had an non touch screen but also had an small joystick )
    No SD card

The biggest problem for 800 is the fact that it does not have Bluetooth or other connectivity but I sow some of my friends that they did something with Android phones in order to send data
