Edge 520 software version 3.0 available but ...

Version 3.0 is shown available on the Garmin website but Garmin Express does not think there is any update. What gives?

    I have BLE on my 6S....

    It's been working since day one of the 6S launch..


    BLE on mine does not work either Garmin Support didn't come right out and say but eluded to that they are seeing it in a certain range of units.

    Guess I have a magical 520 then because I have no issues at all. BLE connects and all my messages come through.

    Evertything went smoothly except I can't see ble blotooth any longer? It connects normal blutooth, but there in no ble to select? IOS 9.xx and iPhone 6.

    It's fixed!

    Having just set up my 6s, I too couldn't pair it with the 520's BLE. Resetting the 520 to factory cured it.

    Disappointingly, the version 3.0 does not fix the connectivity issue with the Wahoo Tickr HRM. It is still taking a very long time to do the initial pairing and even when paired, it's only connecting, very briefly, on rare occasions.

    Also the version 3.0 firmware does not resolve the pairing issue of BLE_Edge_520 (for call/text notification) with iPhone 6s.



    Which ticker HRM? I have stable connection with Tickr-RUN from the beginning - the only change is that with new FW3.0 the battery status is not reported whereas it was misreported as critical regardless of its real charge in 2.3 -

    As for the issue of BLE_Edge, again which pairing issue? I have my iphone 6s paired all right and receiving notifications. To get this working may require a little fiddling on the iphone notification and privacy settings, but I do not consider it a FW bug. The real bug, however, seems to be the dropping of sensor connections during the rides and the freezes when bluetooth is on, but I have not had the chance to see if FW3 resolves this.

    Firmware update and grade calculation

    Anybody can confirm than grade calculation (% of ascend) is improved comparing with previous firmware version (2.3)?? Note than with 2.3 version this calculation has a noticeable delay when shows the instant grade.

    This post may seem out of place on this forum but I want to say THANKS! There's not much positivity in most of these posts., Update went automatically no problem, I then deleted the default profiles that reinstalled themselves to leave me with my original custom ones, and everything seems to be working fine - elevation profile, courses, turn points & warnings, phone messages. Hope i'm not in the minority.

    I plugged mine in yesterday and am fairly certain Garmin Express said I was up to date with 3.0 but the 520 still indicates 2.3.

    I'll wait a few days and see if it gets updated automatically. Can it get the updates wirelessly?
