Moving time

I'm trying to set up my data screens on 520, but none of the Timer options seems to be for moving time only. Time and Time-elapsed seem to measure the same thing; time since start of ride.
Am I missing something? Can there really be no moving time data record for the screen?
I'm hoping I'm at fault, not the device, which is pretty amazing generally.
  • I'm pretty sure "Time" is what you want. It's just not labeled as "moving time".
  • - and you should set the auto pause on as well, or the timer doesn't stop when you do.
  • Time and elapsed time will have the same value unless you either manually stop and restart the timer or have configured auto-pause to automatically stop and start the timer for you.

    Thanks

Thanks for your replies. I tried both Time and Time-elapsed but I think when you have GPS off and are arranging the screen data, both run along anyway. The difference only shows when the system is reading GPS? I'll ch cy on my next (outdoor) ride.
  • Unless you manually stop and restart the timer the times will be the same unless auto-pause is being triggered. For auto-pause to operate it needs a speed source, either GPS (which in this case is turned off) or an external speed sensor. If you have an external speed sensor and are still not getting auto-pause to operate with the GPS off I would consider this a bug, though I think I recall that is what the 510/810 do.
