    Battery life

Made a tour today. Followed a course (with heart rate monitor active, bluetooth switched off) ... and the battery held very close to 8 hrs.

Thanks for the info, am undecided between this and the 520 still!

Tested this week on a 3 hours ride.
    Battery fully charged.

Battery at 75% (I think (no % on screen).
    GPS + GLONASS on.
Bluetooth off, no HR, no course.

I use Wahoo Tickr and Blue SC.
    Glonass off
    Bluetooth on but notifications deactivated.

I am not doing 8h tours but I would guess from several tours that it will have 8h of battery life.

What is the battery life with the light on?

I am about to do a night ride and I was wondering what the battery life would be with the back light on. (PS: The display looks very nice at night.)
  • Battery Life concern

    Hi there,

I have a concern regarding my device:

I have got the latest 2.70 FW, and I would like to share two occasions where the problem seems to be the battery, however I think the device should behave correctly and it is not:

    1) I am using it every day for commute. My commute is around 20 mins. When commuting only, I am not charging it every night, since I'm expecting the battery to run for a couple of rides. When I do this I have the following settings on:

    -GPS + GLONASS
    -No sensors
-Bluetooth on, but not connected to phone.

When the device says the battery is 50%, or whatever that means when the icon shows a "mid" charged battery, I start getting weird behavior, like it turning off when I set it to start a ride. And actually this has also happened with the device fully charged. Also, I have got some missing records.

    2) today I went for a 3.5 hours ride. The device was fully charged the night earlier and had the following settings:

    -GPS+GLONASS
    -Heart Rate, Speed, Cadence sensors
-Bluetooth on, but not connected to phone

When I finished my ride, the device was displaying a "mid" charged battery. I stopped the ride and as soon as I hit the save button it just turned off. When I turned it back on, connected to the mains, garmin connect reported an error trying to synch with the device over bluetooth. I then went into the history section in the device and it looks like it split the whole record into "several"chunks... initially I thought all were valid chunks from the recorded, but the device now reports the following in the stats section:

    65535 rides
    1193046 hr 28 min
    4294967.5 km

As you may imagine I have not ridden that much.

To me this looks like a serious SW error.

Does any one have a suggestion? This is my first garmin product, is it there a more official place where I could report this? is it worth doing?
