I initially bought the edge 25 bundle and had no problem with the cadence sensor and the HRM I bought at the same time, both paired in the old firmware. This weekend I bought a speed sensor and I paired it with no problem just like the instructions said, putting it over the device. I turned the device off and then turned it back on and my HRM and cadence sensor connected immediately but the speed sensor didn't so I gave the wheel some spins and nothing. At first I thought it was the battery, I changed it, cleaned the terminals and nothing, I changed the sensor to the other wheel and the same. What I noticed was that if I put the sensor near the device it would reconnect and stay connected even with the sensor on the front wheel and the device on the stem. Thinking that it could be a faulty act + antenna on the device i took off all the other sensors from the bike and made some proximity tests to see at what distance they would connect and at 10 feet they connected perfectly. Then I thought that it could be a faulty sensor since the only problem was with that sensor so I asked a friend to lend me his sensor and I got the same problem, it would only connect if i put it 1-2 feet near the edge 25. I haven't tried resetting the device because I´m afraid this is a 2.5 firmware problem connecting to new devices since I installed cadence and HRM with the old one.
Do you guys think this is a firmware issue? Has anyone has this problem? I haven't gone on a ride, I just moved the bike some 20 meters and the speed displayed was 0 kmh, does this happen because it hasn't calibrated and the distance was to little?
Thanks
