Garmin HRM belt appears to be giving false readings

I am a 77 year old male, and ride a 2022 Giant Trance X e-MTB 29er.

I have a hereditary heart condition ( Coronary Artery Disease) and have to live with it.  My cardiologist suggests I ride at twice my resting heart rate. (47x 2 = 94-95 beats per minute).  I stick to this and if I am biking uphill and I reach 95HBM, I either back off a bit, or stop for a short rest to allow my heart rate to drop back down before resuming.

I have had an Edge 130 with a Garmin HRM belt for a couple of years. Normal riding is over undulating MTB tracks (Grade 3 to 3+)

Just lately the Garmin 130 reading appears to be reading way too high.  e.g.  as high as 130-145 BPM.  -fluctuating wildly.

I have a new battery, no difference.

I am starting to think the problem is in either the pairing with the Garmin Connect App., Iphone 6s blue-tooth or the Giant ANT+ sensors.

Can anyone out there help a confused geriatric thanks!!!!!!
