Edge 130 won't shut off

I believe since the last update (although I'm not sure).. my edge 130 takes multiple attempts to turn it off.

I get the prompt to turn it off and all it does is start up again. It might take 3 or 4 tries before it actually goes off.

Anyone else have this? Hopefully the next update will cure it.

  • Yes, indeed, my Edge 130 is behaves like your described also.

Same here. Although I think, "multiple attempts" usually means "two attempts" in my case.

Yep, I'd say twice as well.
  • Same here, sometimes i need to sut down twice. Not a big deal for me, as long the Edge 130 stays on while biking ;)
  • Try removing any IQ apps. My Edge caused this problem for me.

Mine is out-of-the-box, nothing installed on it. Today I had to shut it off like, 7 times.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I do have IQ apps on mine. But I like them too much to remove them.
Appreciate the responses. I'm sure Garmin will fix it.... Wont you Garmin?

Update. I called the support line. The tech had me delete several directories. Activity... Apps...courses...New Files...RemoteSW.. My "newfiles" directory had a bunch of files in it which apparently there should not be. He thought that this directory was most likely the problem. Now the device will turn off. I just have to re-send my courses to the 130 using Garmin Connect and re-sync my IQ apps and I'm good to go. Connected via usb to my Mac as a drive. Thats how I deleted the directories in case you did not know what I meant. I guess that I'll just have to keep an eye on it. I never just drop gpx files in that directory so I'm not sure why it would have the 40 plus temp files in it that it had. But all is well now.
  • Did you actually delete the entire directory itself, or just it's content ?
