Extended display

update all ok, have the extended display working from my garmin fenix 5, however can you change the data fields that it displays?
  • It mirrors the first five training pages set-up on the watch.
  • I get 2 additional fields on each datascreen, Time and Laptime... any idea how to get rid of these? They are not configured on my Fenix5..
  • Those are there by design and cannot be removed.

The idea behind the extended display is for users doing activities like a triathlon where they are recording the whole activity on the watch, but don't want to have to try and look at the watch during the biking phase. The extended display allows them to see the data fields they would be using during the biking phase on the Edge along with the overall activity time (Multi-sport time) and the lap time (the current sport time unless they use the lap button).
  • That’s a shame that we are forced to display those 2 data fields we are not all triathletes that bought the 130 and also own a fenix 5, also it does not display any iq data fields from the watch ie my specialised levo power and battery percentage which is one of the reasons I bought it for.

I'm thinking of getting one of these. I know the edge doesn't haveTSS/np/if power fields but the 935 does. So does that mean that I will be able to see this through extended display?

yes. At least NP seems to work (I'm still trading the 130 for a 520).

Thanks. What reason are you going for a 520, Maps?

After I tried to install a 3rd connect iq datafield on the 130, it told me not enough memory... Also, the battery life is poor.

I thought I couldn't live without the extended display feature, which is what tipped the scale towards 130. Turns out I can.

Is there any chance Garmin devs can provide a 130 update to allow custom data fields while in Extended Display mode? Please?

I would like the same thing for the Edge 1030. I want to use the extended display with my Fenix 5S Plus, but not for Total Time and Lap time being fixed on the Edge Computer. I want the option for single Sport (Biking only) mode. Features would be that Music start/stop/replay from Watch is in bottom half of screen - and two data fields are configurable other biking metrics. Example Average speed and average cadence would be on watch. Same thing with Edge - I would prefer to have the ability to move Widget control on the edge versus the watch.
