Stupid question — what is the tether for?

Hi all! Just got my 130 and hope to take it out for a ride this week. I see the extended display feature doesn’t seem enable, which kind of sucks, but I hope that will be coming soon.

i do have a stupid question that I hope someone can answer without making too much fun of me for not knowing — what is the tether for? Do I need to use that? I’m not sure I saw anything about it in the manual.

Sorry — I meant to say I’m taking it OUT for a ride, but the stupid forum says I don’t have permission to edit or view my post. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
  • The tether is a backup for the quarter turn mount (there's a small chance that can fail).

Thanks! I figured as much but didn’t see much about how to use it. I guess I’ll figure it out. Thanks for your quick reply.
  • The mount could fail, but I've never had any issues with my 810 or 1030 and never used a tether. Given how light this is, I can't imagine it being an issue

I've knocked my Touring a few times with my knee when riding (or crashing). Most times have caught it before it fell off but had to retrace my ride to find it once and the same with a mates. Have finally got around to buying a self-adhesive go-pro tether mount to add to the touring. .

I don't think the 130 is big enough to need it but still a good back up.
