Update to 13.75 or not

Hi,

I just received my 1030 replacement from Garmin, it is at FW 11.10. Due to my last trouble with my 1030, I'm not sure if I should update to FW 13.75. Do some of you are trouble free with 13.75? Is the Beta 13.79 a better version? Should I stick with 11.10 until the next software release?

Thanks

Steve

  • I've not had any major issues with 13.75. Moving from screen to screen seems to be slightly slower.

  • The update is available since 4 months so maybe it's not the FW the trouble on all the 1030 that have trouble. If it was the real trouble another FW will have come out.

  • Hello Steve,

worth to think about it.....   copy the "Garmin" folder (FW 11.10) to an empty USB stick so you can easily roll back when u update to FW 13.75.

Large files/maps are not that important to store, this files remain untouched by a rollback.

But before you decide to roll back from FW 13.75 to 11.10, make sure to save most important files i.e. Locations.fit, Totals.fit, Settings.fit and all files in folder Sports. By this you wont lose any newer datas.

  • Use your 1030 without updates (turn off automatic updates if you can). Version 11.xx did not disconnect sensors during rides.
Please update us in a couple of weeks if you experience any errors or disconnects.

  • After the update, no "new" problem for me and my wife... Some sensors (cadence or speed or heart) keeps disconnecting/connecting during the rides. This intermittent problem is present since the Edge 1000.
