13.75 upgrade resulted in crashes and weird behaviour (random start ups). Is there a fix out or a roll back?

Ever since updating to the latest software on my Edge 1030 (13.75) I am getting a random crash when starting a ride or shortly after powering on forcing me to wait for the 1030 to start up, which takes ages with me sitting waiting on the side of the road. Not ideal with a race coming up.

Also, I'm also experiencing an issue where after my ride I long press power, press on "Power Off" and the screen appears to power off but then some time later I hear my notification beep so either the 1030 did not turn off at all or randomly starts up itself. Either way, this drains the battery unnecessarily.

This behaviour started with the software upgrade - I don't believe the device is faulty. I guess it could be but is anyone else experiencing any of these issues?

I could try a roll back if that's possible.

    • Yeah, exactly the same problems I have with it too after the 13.75 update.I’ve downgraded it to 13.73 but it didn’t help.Lost sattelites and after that it restarts itself and doesn’t work.
  • Yep, I've had the crashes just before I start a ride and have to hang around getting cold waiting for it to reboot. Also had the unit telling me there's no roads on the map when I'm running the OS Maps......and this was after a Garmin map update.

  • Yes, the update from about two weeks ago started making some weird things, stuck at power OFF and I force it and I could reboot only with power cable connected the battery was drained to zero and several other similar issues.

Last couple days keeping it in standby and the battery drained from 100% to %70 in two days.

I was reading about battery issues in recent years that people were complaining and this is my first time the upgrade hit me as well and it is pretty bad. In meantime I ordered a new battery eventually to replace DIY.

  • The sudden battery drain in either suspend OR "powered off" has been a thing for YEARS.  Garmin's been fighting that one for a while, and lack of fix or a straight up recall of the 1030 has directly led to me not upgrading until get a good explanation/root cause.

  • I'm having pairing issues since the update with phone, radar, and Powercal heart rate strap.

  • Similar problem. Especially right after charging, at mile 2.5 - 2.75 it will turn off by itself and stay off. Hey Garmin 1030 team, any fixes?
