Gpx file in safari download is defaulting to OS Maps App

Bought new iPhone in. Week. Went to do my Sunday club ride this am. Downloaded the shared GPX file as always, but when I click on file instead of presenting numerous apps to load to, which of course included Garmin Connect, it simply auto / defaults to OS Maps.!

I’ve checked both iPhone settings and OS Maps and Garmin connect apps to no avail.

my wife literally downloaded same file to her phone and no issue.

Email yourself the file. Open the email click on the attachment and using the bottom left icon send it to Garmin Connect.

A workaround is to import the GPX in Garmin Connect Web: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/courses

And then send it to your watch.

Hi thanks I’ll try that. However my pedantic nature can’t cope with fact until I change my phone it was fine and my wife still grabs her routes the same way!

Thanks I’ll look at that. Still doesn’t explain why loading from downloads stopped working upon new phone. My wife in same club and still captures routes that way too. Odd why my new phone won’t play ball.
