Garmin showing different mileage than zwift using Elite Drivo.

OK. Im using my Elite Drivo with a wheel circumference of 2095 as per the Elite manual for zwift.

However when I connect my Garmin 1030 to the trainer as well... The mileage is 5 miles out after a 20 mile ride

I have set the Garmin 1030 to the wheel circumference of 611 as per Elite Forums... but this cant be right. Also the speeds seem to be slower recorded on the Garmin.

Does anyone have the magic numbers I need to get the two to match in Distance and speed.???

Set the correct circumference. Best is to measure it. Why set 611 when the wheel probably is something like 2096?

The 611 Circumference is what you set your Garmin to when you are using a direct drive Turbo Trainer as there is no rear wheel. However there should not be 5 miles difference between the 2 readings for the same ride despite Zwift recording metrics difference.

Why set it to 611? Even if there is no wheel each revolution is still 2096.

611 is 3.4 times less than 2096 which means the distance will be 3.4 times shorter than in reality.

You can't compare the distance in Zwift with what you get on the Garmin device, but with setting the wheel size that small you will get a much shorter distance. Set it to 2096 and it will be more accurate distance.

Its set at that, as that is what is stated in the Elite Wheel Circumference chart. That is the measure used by non Elite Training Apps.

Is the traininer connected as speed and cadence or as a fe-c trainer?

If connected as a speed sensor the number of revolutions of the wheel is multiplied with the circumference and gives you the distance. To use 611 mm the number of revolutions must be multiplied by 3.43 to be correct. It sounds very odd. Why would the trainer measure the revolutions like that? A revolution is a revolution.

Connect it as a fe-c trainer and you will input the correct circumference instead of that odd value. Problem solved
