I've had the accident detection kick in multiple times without any accident or fall; I was involved in an accident recently and the accident detection was never triggered.
IMHO and with that experience in mind, this is a worthless feature.
Q: how can that functionality be improved so it does not trigger false positives and is able to detect a true positive?
Last week I had to brake hard-to stop in a corner on the trail to avoid a collision with an incoming e-cyclist around a corner. On the Edge 1030 screen something came up. I saw this message for a first time and it was some sort of count-down timer as well which I did not manage to stop without my reading glasses. Sure enough in a minute my wife called me, next minute my younger son.
So the accident warning message did work in my case, and it was a hard breaking only and maybe I lean the bike as well with a foot on a gravel in a corner 
if you can picture that.
