garmin 1030 hard reset wont work

holding the start for 10 seconds. It finishes with a screen with Garmin but three dots that flash at the upper half of the screen. The dots count non, one, two, three. The repeat. All I can do the is hold the start button again but it simply repeats itself.

Leave it for a while 5-10 mins while it rebuilds things internally

Try to connect the Egde to a computer, check if there are .tmp files with a size of 0 bytes in the directory \garmin\newfiles. If so, delete those files.

I had same problem.

I could connect it to the computer.

I had made a copy of the Edge a while ago, so started to compare for strange or missing file.

In my case \Garmin\Locations\locations.fit was missing.

Copied it back and the Edge was after that up and running again.

Mine froze too and even after doing the hard reset, it remains frozen after opening it again.
