My experience.
Sometimes, when you create a tour via Basecamp this effect can happen. BC finds it necessary to overshoot the selcted point and come back. So if you are not aware of this behaviour you find yourself confronted with a u-turn during the ride. Happened a lot to me. If you go over the route and watch whether the animated arrows change direction you can either move the point in question or remove it completely.
Something like this can happen with other route planners too. People often click on intersections. If the location of the intersection isn't the same on the map used to plan and the map on the device, you can get these sorts of issues.
There are other ways of getting little deviations in the planned route that can cause these sorts of issues too.
That's why I want to see the route.
