Is there a maximum of fit files in the folder courses?

Frequently when I add gpx.files from strava (via wireless downloading) or garmin connect or by USB directly via newfiles to my garmin 1030, the courses don't appear in the saved courses ater a off/on procedure.
When I deleted some saved fit files in the folder courses, then the new course will load after a off/on procedure to my garmin.

Is there a maximum files in the course folder?

Thanks in advance for answering

  • Guess you found the answer yourself already?
How may files were in the Courses folder when new courses were not saved? Probably you will not know.
After you deleted some files (how many?) new files are stored again, so how many files are in the Courses folder now? Guess thats slightly below 100.
So the maximum number of files is 100.

At least it is on my Edge Explore, but for the 1030 the number may be 200 in stead of 100.

  • Yes it is......  maximum number of files Edge 1030 can handle:

    100 Courses.fit

    200 Favorites  (POI)

    thats it!

  • Thanks!
I thought there was something wrong with my Garmin 1030. But that is not the case. In fact disappointing. There is plenty of memory on the Edge 1030 but only 100 fit files can be placed on it. There is room for at least ten times that number. And the number of fit files is not even adjustable yet.

  • Thanks!

There is certainly enough memory on the mass storage (that was true for even the ancient 800).

The list occupies other memory too (the list has to be sorted). There might be reasons not to use more of that memory.
