Where are my maps stored?

I have downloaded Fietsmaps of Belgium and Germany. On my MAC it shows these as updated to my Garmin 1030. Where are they?? The Garmin folders do not have either map listed with the same name. (Do they re-name them?I had previously installed Fietsmaps of Europe but don't know if they were actually there! How does one ensure the right map is going to be used and not Garmin's default version?

  • The map files are stored in \Garmin

The name displayed in the list is data inside the file (it's not the file name).

This program will list the file names with the internal names:

    www.javawa.nl/jdm_en.html

  • Before copying the image to the Garmin, I always rename them.

Then it's easy to recognize them un the \garmin folder.

  • If you copied an .img file to the unit it kept the file name. However if you use MapInstall to do the installation it probably gave the file a new name. MapInstall does not copy an .img file it rather create one based on the .gmap stored in MapManager on your mac. File names are not the same as the map name. So in Finder open the Edge/Garmin folder and sort by date, the map file should be easy to spot with a date matching when you installed it on the Edge.
