So, my 2yo Edge 1030 suffered a problem last week. The screen started to lift away from the body at the bottom and the touchscreen stopped responding. Contacted Garmin who said they will exchange it for a refurb unit for £128. Not really having much choice I accepted.
What I wanted to know is exactly what have Garmin done to the refurbed unit? For example, will they test the battery and fit a new one, a new screen if it is at all scratched, swap the body if it is marked, fit new buttons etc? Will the refurbed unit look like new and battery last like a new unit would?
Really just want to know if have I spent £128 for a replacement unit that might not last any longer than the £500 unit I bought 2 years ago.
