Magenta course routing color needs customization with the addition of popularity map

I am aware the question/suggestion has been made before about being able to customize the color of the Course routing lines (currently thick magenta/purple line). I know the history line can be customized and I don't care about that. The urgency of being able to change the color of the course routing line has increased for me dramatically with the addition of the "Popularity Map" which can be displayed now. I like that map, but for whatever reason, Garmin chose to display the popularity "heat" in colors of purple with the most popular roads being shaded in dark purple that is almost the same as the course routing line. I know in the latest firmwares there are chevrons displayed on the course line (though not as many as Wahoo has), and I like them, but sometimes they are not enough and sometimes have not displayed at all and I have gotten very confused about which road is really my route versus which one is just a really popular road. Has anyone else had this problem? Here's a screenshot of an example, not the worst I've experienced, and the chevrons do help in this case, but it shows what I am talking about:
