Maps not routable after map update

My 1030 is on 12.20 firmware. I recently updated maps. Everything seemed to go well. The new version is 2021.10.

However, I no longer see any map features on the device except the base map. Any attempt to generate a route fails with "maps do not have routable roads in this area".

I have confirmed that the relevant maps are enabled. Any suggestions on how I can fix this problem? Everything used to work until I updated the maps yesterday.

PS: I do not have any third party maps on device.

  • I would try reinstalling the maps.

  • same issue for me on my ride today.  Preloaded route was constantly beeping and rejiggering.  It almost appears that there are multiple maps competing with one another within the software.

The error message I get is "Route Calibration Error" and then tbelow that he error Rupesh97 described.

I did just sync to Garmin express and there was a new map to install.  routable maps 10.2021

  • OP here. I contacted Garmin support and they asked me to create a new profile from scratch. That made the maps viewable but routing was still failing. Then they asked me to do a factory reset. Even that didn't fix routing. I reinstalled the maps (same 2021.10 version), which finally fixed routing with the new profile. I restored the existing profiles, but they still wouldn't show the map or route even though they showed the new map version as enabled. So I had to hand-create new profiles to match what I had before.
