Garmin 1030 stuck in flashing Garmin logo and being mode

My Garmin 1030 is frozen in a beeping mode and the Garmin logo flashing intermittently. You can't reset it by holding down the power button for 10 seconds and it makes no difference plugging it into a power source and plugging in via a USB cable to the computer.  I can't even use Garmin Express, as it can't locate it and the stuck mode it is in, means it can't be found as an external drive.  It is only two years old.

Any advice is most welcome.

    If you can power it off you can try

    Force to Mass Storage -
    Turn unit off. Hold the lap/reset button while plugging the unit into the USB. Continue holding the lap/reset for 30 seconds and the unit should go to mass storage.

    Non-prompted Non-Vol Clear - Clears NV and deletes all FIT files including Activities, Courses, Workouts.

    • Turn device off
    • Hold Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
    • Press and release the power button
    • Continue to hold only Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
    • Release Lap/Reset and Start/Stop when the Garmin Logo is cleared
    • The unit will restart and clear non-vol

    I can’t turn it off - when it runs out of charge it powers back to the same beeping and frozen status with logo dropping in and out.

    You can try intercepting the start up. Force the power off using the long the power button hold and then quickly do one of the above options as it start to power up.

    Have you tried holding the power button down for longer than ten seconds? I once had to hold it down for over 30 seconds.

    Thanks for all the advice - I have tried holding the power button for 10 seconds and also for 30 seconds but it makes no difference. It neither powers on or off. It just stays stuck beeping with a flashing intermittent Garmin logo. I’m so reluctant to give up on it as it is only two years old and was working perfectly last week. I have tried holding all the other buttons and the power butttkn but to no avail :-(
