Map doesn’t move

I usually just have the map displayed when following a course.  Lately the map doesn’t move so the arrow showing me where I am on the road goes off the screen.  I then have to drag the map down to see where I am.  Any ideas please?

  • Tap onto the „return arrow“ left bottom on the screen.

  • Thanks.  That takes me back to the map with the subsequent scrolling data screens.  It doesn't solve the problem of me wanting to have a map always on and having the map move with me.  I can keep on clicking bottom left and then the hand at the top of the next screen but that is a pain every 2 minutes or so.

  • The default setting is that the blue triangle of your position always stays underneath the center of your map screen. If you tap the screen, you should see a hand on top.
If you see a square with a dot, the map is not linked to your position. Then a „return arrow“ (not the left/right arrows) appears at the bottom left inside the map.
If this mapscreen is default - something‘s wrong with your device…

  • Ah, OK.  So when I follow a course, i want the map to be always on.  I've done this in the past by tapping the hand.  There is now a square around a circle at the top and a return arrow at the bottom when I do that (although I don't recall what was shown before when the map used to move).  The map with the square/return arrow is the one that stays always on but it doesn't move with me.  The map with the hand is part of the data screen loop.  Is there a way of changing the setting so that the "always on" map moves with me so the arrow representing me is fixed on the screen?  Thanks for your help btw!

  • How are you starting your navigation?

Do you do it like this?

    1. On the Edge device, select Navigation > Courses > Saved Courses.
    2. Select the course.
    3. Select Ride.
    4. To see the map you swipe sideways to the map screen.
  • Turn off „autoscroll“!

Profile - Auto function - turn off auto change of screens

  • It's the same map.

Tapping the hand changes to a pan mode. That mode lets you move the map by sliding your finger.

You exit the pan mode by tapping the back arrow at the lower left OR tapping the box with the circle at the upper middle.

The pan mode is meant to be used temporarily (to look at the map).

    ==============================

I'm guessing that your issue is that the device keeps scrolling between screens automatically.

To keep that from happening, turn off "autos scroll".

Home > Settings (the three horizontal lines at lower left) > Activity Profiles > Road (for example) > Auto Features (scroll down) > Autoscroll > Off

You can then change the screen displayed by swiping left or right with your finger.

  • Thanks!  Using a different profile without auto-scrolling now.
