Garmin, please add respiration rate tracking in Edge 1030

Dear Garmin Team,

please add respiration rate Tracking for the Edge 1030. Edge 530 and 830 and also the 1030 Plus can do this, so the code is already there.
Or is it left out on purpose to justify upgrading to another device? It would really be interesting to have that available on the "old" 1030 as well.

I asked for it a long time ago, they explained that it is licensed by Firstbeat. But now they own them, so they could bring it to older devices ...

From the given article, it seems that 530/830 and 1030+ can just display it, but not record it? Is that really true?

Yes. I think everyone knows it. But just for this, it is not worth changing the device.

No, it is not true. They record (based on HRV) as well. You can see on the statistics and graph in Connect.

Thank you for verifying this. But as you said, it's not worth changing the device for this. As the code basis is there, it would be possible to implement this into the 1030 as well.

Yes, that's right. Previously (I asked about this function as part of the BETA program) they explained that it is licensed by Firstbeat and therefore they cannot introduce to older devices, but now they have taken over Firstbeat, so nothing should stand in the way. In addition to the business approach - you want a new function, buy a new device ... E1030 + has too few changes (performance, navigation) for a change, maybe E1040, as long as it will not be extremely expensive
