Edge 1030 navigation with Strava live segments doesn't work

Hello everyone,

I use strava live segments and they are not displayed when navigating. If I drive without navigation it works.

Can someone help me?

    When you load the course up on the Edge to ride it, do you see the segment start/end points listed on the course point page?

    How do I find the course points page? 

    If I go to Navigation —> courses —> saved courses —> choose course.  It loads the course, then I can see the menu (including “ride”. The menu has nothing called ‘course points’ on it, I get Map, Elevation, Climb, Laps, Settings. Under settings, I can turn course points off, but its already on.  If I look at the map, it doesn’t show the course points on the virtual. 

    If I go to training, I can see Strava Live Segments, and under that see all the segments, both ones I’ve starred and others. A cross check shows the segments which are in the route are on the list. 

    If I go to training —> race an activity, I can choose a route I’ve done. On the map page, I can see the course points over laid on the map.

    If you select ride the course it should add a new training page to teh training pages you have that lists all teh course points in the course file.

    I feel it is worth mentioning that Ride With GPS can in fact export in the FIT file format -- and that is what I always use. But I also have found that course navigation overrides the Strava Live Segments and they don't appear, even though they are clearly loaded on my Edge 1030. Wahoo has the ability to show Live Segments even while navigating a non-Strava course -- I really think Garmin ought to be able to manage this as well.

    So you’re saying they don’t actually work on a Garmin 1030?  

    Certainly my experience is when navigating a course which has segments, they don’t pop up.

    I will try a course on Saturday using a 1030. They are working on the 1030+ and 830 that I use.

    Certainly not with my RWGPS courses. I have not tried using Strava Routes but I don't *want* to use Strava Routes. Since I see the Strava Segments on my Garmin, they should show up, course navigation or not.

    It will only work with Strava courses as they embedded the segment information within them that is needed by the Edge.

    I rode with the 1030 using the latest beta build 11.23. This was using a course authored in Strava and synced to GC and then downloaded to the Edge. Both segments and ClimbPro worked without issue for me.

    Where can I put in a feature request for this then? Wahoo can do it, and given that the Garmin has the GPS coordinates of the segments on the device, it could do this also if it were willing to consider them along with the course navigation.
