1030 and setting two different WHEEL SIZES???

I ride 2X different bicycles (road bike and mountain bike).

Is it possible to set and store two different wheel sizes in my Garmin Edge 1030?

I have two profiles set, but as I manually input the wheel size for instance for my road bike, the mountain bike profile also automatically changes the wheel size as well. I have 1X set of sensors and swap the the sensors to the appropriate bicycle...

I am hoping that I don’t have to manually change the wheel size as I alternate bike useage...

Thanks,

Ryan

  • Wheel size is entered under the sensor information. Therefore, it'll be better to have a pair of two instead of switching sensor between the wheels.

I'm afraid that there is no way around that you either have to enter wheel size every time you swap bikes or to buy a second sensor.

For convenience, I heavily recommend the second way.

  • Thank you - I guess this is more of a sales/revenue issue than technology.

  • The senor isn't really intended to be swapped.

That lets the sensor serve as an identifier of the bicycle.

There are inexpensive sensors that you might be able to use, if cost is a strong issue.

Another thing to consider is using the sensor on the mountain bike.

GPS only might be good enough for you for the road bike.
