wrong date and time

I've had my Edge for several months now and cannot figure out a way to synch the date/time. Every ride is recorded 12 hours in the future. How can this be so difficult for the garmin software engineers to fix. I will return this device if this cannot be corrected. I have many other garmin devices and this has never been a problem. Please help.

OK, I plugged it into my laptop and synched it with Garmin Express and that worked. Thanks for all the suggestions.

If your device has the current firmware, it should update the time through Wifi and bluetooth.

When was the last time it got a good look at the sky. It should sync over GPS automatically.

I've used it outside several times with clear view of the sky and still no synch. I will check the firmware.

It indicates software version 11.0. GPS Version 2.50

Possibly the time zone map in your Edge is corrupted. Search for instructions on how to update the Garmin time zone map for your device.

What is the timezone if you login in http://connect.garmin.com ?

In account settings is a field for timezone.

Not sure if this effects your rides, but maybe worth checking it,

aweatherall, who posts here frequently and is very knowledgeable about Garmin products has previously suggested the following for time zone issues:

Delete the garmindevice.xml and device.fit file from the Garmin folder and th eEdge will rebuild them

Sounds like you don't have Wifi setup for the Edge. It would have corrected the time over Wifi without you doing anything.
