My Edge1030 is freezing about 1 mile into rides in cold weather (under 32 F). The only remedy is to restart the device. Does anyone else have this issue?

I was out last week in temperatures of -0.7 and driving sleet and the device was OK - which is more than I was!
It is not a problem. Pretty much all touch screens do this. In particular smart phones if you leave them in the rain. That’s why there is a touchscreen lock. Just press power button when in activity and…

I assume that by freezing you mean it crashed, stop working, and not just get freezing cold...
I use it regularly in temperature as cold as -10oC and it works fine. Battery life is less when it is very cold, as expected, but it does not crash. You can see on the spec page what the rated temperatures are for charging and operation. www8.garmin.com/.../GUID-385D95A8-772A-4EF2-9CB5-AA016AD8AD82.html
This has happened to me a couple of times. On both occasions the temperature was close to freezing and very wet. I've also found that when the screen gets covered in water due to rain it often starts responding as if the screen been pressed. This has caused some of my screens to be re-configured, e.g. fields being swapped around etc. It definitely seems that the 1030 has got a problem with wet and cold weather.
