- Is there an App for the Garmin 1030 that will allow you to control Hive Smart home devices. Would like to turn heating on when out on bike
I suggest you to take a look on the home-assistant.io page. This is a SW package to manage your home with specific devices that you can assemble or purchase. This software has many feature such as when you are X km far from your home it switch on light or switch on aircondition etc. But actually any event can manage anything which is connected to this SW. As far as I see from the webpage HIVE Smart Home devices can be connected too to the home-assistant. So no need to take phone out of pocket neither gloves off. Also there are gloves that are fine for touch screens. ;-)
If Hive supports IFTTT / IoT there's a couple of ciq apps that can trigger applets.
Apps however cannot be used whilst recording an activity only widgets can do that. There is one ciq widget that can do that on the Edge 1030 called IoTclient widget. I've tried it & it does work though the UI isn't the best
I have Tuya Smartlife & use a widget on my fenix 6 that I use to control my 2 most important things via IFTTT.. . Heating & Espresso machine.
Thanks and you got your priorities right there :)
Have you found an app for this? I am searching for a good app to control my home's smart devices. I have several smart devices in my house, and they all need a different app on my phone to control them. It is not comfortable at all to use all of them. For example, recently, I bought some smart plugs from https://www.amazon.com/smart-plug-wifi-plugs-alexa/dp/B09KTYH3MJ. I had to install another app for those devices. I am thinking of Alexa smart home or Google Home, but before I need to read some reviews of them so I can understand which is better.
