Hello,
I've been using a number of Garmin Edge GPS bike computers for a number of years.
Unfortunately, I keep finding quality problems in various series.
On the Garmin Edge 1000, the on and off switch on 2 devices was slipped after around 2.5 years.
The rubber around the small microswitch was torn (due to normal switching on and off), so that the devices could no longer be switched on or off.
I reported this to Garmin and after a few back and forth I bought two new Garmin Edge 1030s at a discount. But were still over 800 euros.
Now, after I have had the 1030s again for around 2.5 years, a nose on the underside of the housing (coupling) has broken on both devices and that without outside interference.
They are used to attach the Garmin to a bracket on the bike.
The white plastic is just too thin and the material too soft.
Modern bikes are made of carbon these days and the vibrations are constant. If you then ride an MTB off-road, that can break one of the white noses in the long run. There is even a tool that can be used to achieve a better connection to the bracket.

Why is there such a thing and why can't Garmin implement it?
If you could just swap the clutch here, that would be a few cents. The circular coupling in the post can also be loosened and replaced with two screws.
But no, you have to send in the device and get - generously - a refurbished device for around 140 € and have to replace it completely!
Is there anyone who has had a similar experience? At least I'm not the only one in the Google world!
In any case, I'm really angry and if it stays that way, I won't buy any more Garmin devices.
