I cannot update the software from 10.25 to 11,00

The 11.00 update has made its way to my Edge 1030 which is currently running 10.25.  However every time I try to install it, it reboots, verifies the installer and then shuts down.  

When I plug the 1030 into my pc, it connects and then shuts down automatically

Can anyone help

    I had the very same issue. I did a full factory reset on the device. Afterwards I was able to drop the updated GUPDATE.GCD into the \Garmin folder for the update to complete. Fortunately I'd synced the device with Garmin Express (PC) prior, so all my settings came across on first sync after the successful update.

    Instructions to recover from crash (10.25):

    1. Power off your device. If it crashes, just wait until the screen is completely blank.
    2. Hold the lap key and continue to hold it as you plug it into the computer via USB.
    3. When you see the Edge has connected to the computer, you can let the lap key go.
    4. Delete the Garmin/Apps/Media folder from your device. After updating to 10.26, it will be recreated, and that is expected.
    5. Install the 11.00 software following the usual installation instructions.
